Our focus
Browsecometfjell.world is an independent, informative publication about recovered glass and manufacturing. We start from the desired product and trace backward to feedstock, sorting, processing and evidence. The aim is to make terminology understandable without implying that a trial, a technical possibility and a reliable commercial route are the same thing.
We distinguish container remelting from alternative routes such as aggregate, foam glass and fine powder. We identify when properties depend on composition, processing or end use. Where information varies between jurisdictions or facilities, we describe the dependency instead of presenting one value as universal.
Sources policy
Our source notes favor primary standards, public agencies, technical institutions and industry references with a clearly stated remit. References include the US Environmental Protection Agency, European Commission, European Environment Agency, ASTM International, International Organization for Standardization, CEN, British Standards Institution, FEVE, Glass for Europe, British Glass, WRAP, Glass Packaging Institute, US Geological Survey, Federal Highway Administration, UK Environment Agency, BRE, EPD International, ecoinvent, International Energy Agency and Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
These organisations publish material with different purposes: regulation, statistics, test methods, industry context, environmental assessment or engineering guidance. Mentioning a source does not mean it endorses this site. A standard's scope and edition matter; a national rule should not be presumed to apply elsewhere. We encourage readers to consult the underlying source and relevant specialists before making specifications or claims.
Evidence and uncertainty
We avoid presenting estimates as measured plant results. When a number or statement depends on scope, technology or geography, we say so. Our pages explain that environmental comparisons require a defined function, system boundary, data and assumptions. We do not treat recycled content as a complete indicator of environmental performance, and we do not describe alternative products as interchangeable without application-specific evidence.
Our articles are educational material, not engineering advice, certification, legal advice or a substitute for current standards and product declarations. Technical details can change as processes, regulations and standards develop. Contact us with a correction or a source that would materially improve a page.
